Some services may be subject to a 25% non-refundable deposit.

Cancellation fees may be applicable if a job is cancelled without 24hrs notice.

Green Paws and Claws is a family-run business, and we do not tolerate abusive or discriminating behaviour. Luckily, we have never had an example of this from our lovely clients, but we have had to deal with unsavoury situations with members of the public on occasion, but thankfully, rarely! If for any reason you're unhappy with our service, please do give us a call, and we'll do our best to find a mutually beneficial solution.

Groups are catered for on a 1:4 Ratio of responsible adults and dogs.

We do work with reactive and difficult dogs, this is risk assessed on a case-by-case basis. Owners will be expected to provide safety equipment if deemed necessary. We reserve the right to muzzle a dog or use our own harnesses or safety equipment if those provided by owners are insufficient.

We also work with intact males and females, however, intact males will not be walked with intact females, for obvious reasons!

We are a strictly cruelty-free business. We reserve the right to refuse work on the grounds of unsafe training methods and practices. We will not use slip leads on animals that routinely pull or lunge. The use of shock collars will not be conducted by anyone working for Green Paws and Claws. Our training techniques are rooted in Positive Reinforcement (R+), and Force-free.

We are not trainers nor behaviourists, but have a longstanding experienced-based knowledge base. We work closely and have ties with several other local businesses or charities, so if we don't have the answer you're looking for, then we can certainly refer on.

Animals can be unpredictable, yes, even the most well-trained ones! They are just like people really, they will have good and bad days. For any unwanted behaviours that we notice, we'll inform the owner, and support them in correcting the behaviour. Unwanted behaviours can be symptoms of stress, illness, or a myriad of other factors. We expect our clients to help us keep safe, as well as keeping their animals safe.

We request that all animals entrusted to our care are appropriately treated with wormers, flea treatment, vaccines and other prophylactics. For instance: Dogs need monthly wormers and flea treatments. Cats Flea treatment and wormers (if they go outside), Rabbits (if boarding) require wormer, myxomatosis, VHD1&2. Guinea pigs have no legal requirements, however, we would suggest asking your vet for any suggested prophylaxis treatments.

Please let us know if your pet has symptoms of a contagious disease, this is to ensure the safety of our other animals.

Fleas and ticks are a real bother! Sometimes dogs will pick up several fleas or ticks on walks, especially if they like to roll in unmentionables or long grass. This is usually nothing to worry about if your pet is treated. The treatment does not stop fleas from hitching a ride, but will quickly kill them if they take a drink of blood from a treated animal. Sometimes a particular flea treatment isn't suited to your pet's physiology, and sometimes one brand might be more effective than another. We recommend a bath to wash off any renegade fleas, and a quick flea combing session at least once a week. It's also wise to regularly treat the house and car. We use Indorex® spray regularly. We stock and carry tick removers.

All dogs must be microchipped and wear a collar or have a tag on their harness, this is the law! We might add a tag to their collars with our contact details for when they are in our care. As of June 2024, cats are also now required to be microchipped. Do ask your vet to check the chip is patent regularly. Our cat managed to lose his microchip!

Green Paws and Claws does not take responsibility for out of date or incorrect microchip information, this is the legal owner's responsibility. Trust us we don't want your loved ones to get lost.

Trackers are most welcome! If you use Tractive® you can invite us to join your 'family' so we can help keep track of them when they are out with us. We try not to let any dog out of our visual line of sight, but accidents do happen, better to be safe than sorry.

We reserve the right to contact the RSPCA or Police if deemed necessary. The safety of everyone is our top priority.
